On Saturday the 26th of June 23 members of GBAI met  in the parking lot behind the chapel at Gulf Breeze Methodist Church, in GB proper.  We were transported by Dreamcatcher to Ocean Springs, MS and arrived at the Walter Anderson Museum at 9:30AM.  We viewed a short but very interesting video about the life of Walter Anderson and were then given a guided tour of the Museum. All agreed it was a very a wonderful experience and we had a great touring this very interesting museum. We were then given a tour of The Mary C Center for arts, a wonderful facility in Ocean Springs for art education.

At about 11:30 we headed for Biloxi and arrived at noon at the Mary Mahoney Restaurant were we enjoyed an excellent lunch which included some wonderful entertainment by one of the owners of the restaurant. We left for the Mobile Museum of Art about 1:30PM and after an unscheduled detour by the Museum of Mobile (wrong museum) we arrived at the Moblie Museum of Art at 3:30. We explored the museum until closing at 5:00PM. All were impressed by the varied and extensive collection on display at this truly interesting museum.

We arrived back in Gulf Breeze at 6:30PM. As a benefit for the members, Gulf Breeze Arts covered the transportation and museum admission costs of this enjoyable trip. Similar events are being planned for the future.

On Saturday the 7th of August from 5 - 8 PM the members of Gulf Breeze Arts are holding their annual summer party at Tristan Towers clubhouse. This is a pot-luck affair so bring a dish to share. GBAI will supply soft drinks but if you wish something stronger you must bring it yourself. Ralph Thomas is going to prepare his wonderful roast pork for all to enjoy. The clubhouse has an indoor air-conditioned area and a pool if you want to enjoy a swim or be outside. This is always a fun event so be sure to plan on attending. A reminder email with additional information will be sent soon.
